Adapted from the eponymous novel by Prix Goncourt winner Jean-Christophe Rufin, Jean Becker’s First World War drama The Red Collar revolves around the interrogation of a decorated war hero. Held prisoner in an abandoned barracks in the crushing summer heat and to the sound of his own knobbly dog barking night and day, he awaits his interrogation by a corrupt judge. Not far off in the countryside, a young woman works the land, waiting and hoping. These three characters find in their midst a dog that holds the key to their destinies…
