Japan’s Acid Mothers Temple & The Melting Paraiso U.F.O. (Underground Freak Out) were formed in 1996 and play progressive jams in the vein of psychedelic freaks such as Magma, Gong, Ash Ra Tempel, Flower Travellin’ Band, Guru Guru and Floyd at their wildest. Furthermore, guitarist and founding member Makoto Kawabata believes he is the reincarnation of hippie guru Father Yod!

AMT have proven time and time again to be one of the premier psychedelic bands on the planet, having graced stages and festivals all around the world, including the phenomenal Austin Psych Fest arguably more times than any other band. Braw has been chuffed to have put on Kawabata-san in various capacities over the years, with a solo show in 2013 and a collaborative set with Japanese noise legend KK Null earlier this year, but we’re over the moon to have the entire UFO unit in the Dissection Room of Summerhall. Expect a fully psyched out experience from this legendary Japanese collective, unlike anything you’ll see this year.

Nackt Insecten

The solo ritualistic drone project from Glasgow underground legend Ruaraidh Sanachan, also of Moon Unit, Bad Aura, Pyramidion and countless other psychedelic noise projects of the west’s vibrant weirdo scene. This will be his first solo show in what seems like years now, Nackt Insecten places audiences into a hypnotic trance of synth, tape crackle and hum – as heard on his 2011 opus and masterpiece ‘Reality Bridge’ on Blackest Rainbow. Get down early!
