You’re Not Supposed to Do That

Innovation in Music Conference 2023 launch and welcome.

Three contemporary rule-breaking artists perform and talk about their practice in a unique show-and-tell-gig. Lomond Campbell (FOUND), SHEARS and Lauren Sarah Hayes will each perform a 30-minute set, playing pieces while also describing their individual performance tools and equipment, how they create their sounds and the development of their live sets. Somewhere between a gig and a studio conversation, the artists invite you behind-the-scenes, to hear about their music-making designs and creative spaces. This one-off event launches Innovation in Music 2023, (held at Edinburgh Napier University 1st and 2nd July), the theme of which is: ‘You’re Not Supposed to Do That‘, celebrating artists, producers, innovators and academics who create new pathways and ideas by doing things differently.
