Born in 1981 and raised in Vermont by folk-musician parents, Sam Amidon sings and plays fiddle, banjo, and guitar. With his self-titled seventh album, Amidon returns to the vast reservoir of folk music with fresh energy and a renewed enthusiasm for texture, facilitated by the creative leap of 2017’s The Following Mountain.

POKEY LAFARGE returned in October with In The Blossom of Their Shade via New West Records. The 10-song set was produced and arranged by Pokey LaFarge and Chris Seefried and recorded in Chicago, IL & Los Angeles, CA. The collection is the follow up to LaFarge’s critically acclaimed 2020 studio LP Rock Bottom Rhapsody which NPR’s Fresh Air named a “Best of 2020” and an “Album that made an art of escapism.”

Juniore is a boyish girl-band, brain child of Anna Jean and produced by Samy Osta. Hypnotic and dreamy, Anna’s soft voice pulls us in to tell us stories of loveless mornings and sleepless nights, imaginary apocalypses, walks of shame and unhappy endings. Desperately hopeful, Juniore’s tunes are a mix of old school melodies and modern lyrics, fiilled with delight and melancholy. Somewhere between Sergio Leone’s spaghetti westerns and urban adventures straight out of Nouvelle Vague films, Juniore stretches out time and space, both dark and light, tense and reassuring.

Forming in the aftermath of a karaoke party, Dry Cleaning are a minimalist, post-punk slanted quartet hailing from London. Their urgent, punky riffs contrast the stoney coolness of lead singer Florence Shaw’s spoken-words, reminiscent of Kim Gordon and Sonic Youth’s iconic Teenage Riot. Catch them at Summerhall with support from the brilliant electronic trio PVA.

The Transatlantic Ensemble return to Summerhall Edinburgh, by popular demand, on Thursday February 17th 2022, to perform Fleetwood Mac’s iconic Rumours album in its entirety, plus loads of other well known Fleetwood Mac treats. Experience one of the greatest albums of all time, lovingly & accurately recreated live.

New Antonine Brass was formed in 2014 by musicians studying at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. Lloyd Griffin, Mark James, Hayley Tonner, Lewis Bettles and Danielle Price make up the group which is the standard brass quintet format of two trumpets, french horn, trombone and tuba. As a group they have enjoyed many highs, most recently performing at the Usher Hall in Edinburgh as part of the Emerging Artists concert series and giving recitals and workshops as part of the Loch Shiel Festival in the Highlands of Scotland.

Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs have left the wiser of us aware that they are no band to be messed with. In the seven years since this band’s inception, the powerful primal charge at their heart has been amplified far beyond the realms of their original imagination. The band’s upward trajectory has done nothing to make the Newcastle-based quintet complacent however, as they’ve used the cumulative force behind them as fuel for their most ambitious and hard-hitting record yet.

Grace Petrie’s unique takes on life, love and politics, and the warmth and wit with which they are delivered, have won over an army of loyal fans across the alternative, folk, political and comedy scenes. She’s toured to arenas with Frank Turner, supported comedians Robin Ince, Josie Long and Hannah Gadsby, and has collaborated with Leon Rosselson and Peggy Seeger as well as touring with the hugely successful Guilty Feminist shows.

As singer with Carter The Unstoppable Sex Machine, Jim Bob had 14 top 40 singles, 4 top ten albums (including a number one), sold over a million records, toured the world and headlined Glastonbury.

Regarded with awe throughout the music world, Lee “Scratch” Perry holds status as one of the most enduring and original reggae producers and artists of all time.

The UK’s most innovative young Drummer and producer, Yussef Dayes, has gained notoriety on the international stage as a pioneer of his field. Though largely considered a “jazz” drummer, Dayes pushes beyond genre restrictions melding together everything from 70s funk to Senegalese percussion to UK grime. Dayes grew up playing along to his father’s jazz vinyl collection. This was the closest Yussef had to a formal jazz education until at age 10 when he studied under Billy Cobham (Miles Davies’ drummer) for two years.
