A Major Retrospective Exhibition of work by Bridget Ivers Cox (1951 -2022)
Bridget Ivers Cox studied at Carlisle and Belfast Colleges of Art, and subsequently taught painting at the latter. She exhibited her work in Dublin, Belfast, London and Carlisle, and her undoubted talent was recognised internationally in 2019 when a painting was included in the National Portrait Galley’s International Portrait Competition. Known as “the most prestigious portrait painting competition in the world”
Cox’s diverse work spans life drawing and painting, portraiture, still life and landscape. Her use of media is equally variegated and skilfully captures her emotive perspective.
Bridget left her extensive archive to The MacLean brothers, who are forming a charity with the goal of providing clean water for communities around the world. All proceeds from the exhibition will go to this worthy cause.
